What are you having? I’ll have the shrimp cocktail… (Original post date 6/25/12)

34 weeks today! I’m feeling good except the back is starting to hurt and I feel like I’m going to tip over at any moment. Also, stairs? Not my dearest friends. The baby shower is this coming Sunday and I can’t be even more excited for that! Baby boy is loved loved loved already (as apparent in his closet full of clothes already!).

The nursery is done! We just need a crib mattress, some bedding and we’re good to go! The baby will be sleeping his bassinet for the first 3 months so no rush there. We only have 42 more days! Ahhhhhhhhhhhh…

Long Duc Dong (Original post date 5/31/12)

We’re 30 weeks now people! Here’s a look at my bumpity bump.

Cute? Big? Still surreal and odd to me. We’re making good progress here though – baby boy has been kickin’ it. Oh and what’s that you say? The nursery looks like it’s made progress too! I’m in my nesting mode now. Must.have.it.done.soon. My baby will not be sleeping in a drawer! Also, this week, the dogs care immensely.
In other news, we have narrowed the names down to 6 with a very big gap between the top 2 and the rest of the pack. Stay tuned!

Hon, what do you think? Beehive or Chicken Coop? (Original post date 5/17/12)

Have I mentioned how funny my baby daddy is? Because he is. He’s hilarious.

Here we are at 27 weeks! We are now in 3rd trimester people. Try not to fall over with too much excitement. Baby boy is growing and growing. 2nd tri came and went quickly so I hope the same for 3rd. Or not. I love my sleep!

24 weeks - 6 months!! (Original post date 4/16/12)

We have officially crossed the 6 month mark! I wish I could tell you that time is flying but August does still seem forever away. I can’t wait to meet our little son and hold him safely in my arms. Here’s a pic for you – you can see the bump is a bumpin’ and the nursery is almost getting there. We just have to take a “few” storage boxes out to the garage and rearrange some of the existing furniture. Also, add a crib, glider and a baby and make an instant family. I thought the pic was pretty funny considering all 3 dogs are in there. By the way, they were just chasing each other a minute before the pic and this is their time out/rest before the chase ensued again. You can see Peanut in the doorway, waiting to chase again!

20 Weeks! (Original post date 3/19/12)

Here we go!  I tried to use the same tank top that I had in my 17 week photo but it’s in the wash   Here’s me at 20 weeks with a similar tank and same tights.  The baby is measuring at 8 oz and is the same length as a banana!
We’re halfway there!  And yes, the nursery has not been updated!  And the dogs are still whatever!

Is that a 6th toe? (Original post date is 3/8/12)

We’re having a …(scroll down for it!)…

Here are some fun photos from our anatomy scan.  Everything measured healthy and right on schedule.  We are truly blessed with this miracle!
Baby at 18 weeks, 2 days
 Baby’s Fist!  Ready to rock!
Baby’s being flexible
And baby is a…

BOY!!!

But no Grandma, he doesn’t have a 6th toe :)  Just his Aunty’s weird index toe.

I can’t remember the last time I had a baby (Original post date 3/2/12)

If you are just catching up with this blog now, I'm going back to www.milkbabypowder.com and moving all posts to here. Hopefully will be back in "real" time in a week or so.

Conversation we had at Babies R Us the first time we went to register:

Me: Hey, are you overwhelmed?
Mr. Pie: Yeah, kind of. I can’t remember the last time I had a baby.
Sales Girl: ::laughing::

Baby Jail (Original post date 3/1/12)

We got our first baby item! It’s the BabyTrend Deluxe Nursery Center. We have deemed it “baby jail.” Hopefully our baby will sit quietly in it and play. Right? Right?? Ha.

Here I am at 17 weeks!

(Please excuse the nursery in it’s beginning stages and of course, my dog, who could care less and has an itch somewhere.)

I can’t believe month 4 is already here.  We only have 5 months to get ready.  Actually, probably less since I’m not too sure of my mobility for the last month.  We’ll see…
In the meantime, the baby is now the size of an onion (gross, can’t stand the smell of them now) and can hear, has developed some fat and the umbilical cord is getting thicker.  The baby is also now 5 oz and 5 inches long!  Can’t wait for August!

Olive My Love (Original post date 1/5/12)

Is this precious or what?

I’m at 9 weeks today and the baby is the size of an olive.  We took the above ultrasound last week when I noticed spotting and got worried.  However, the technician said that it’s pretty common so now we know.  The heart rate measured at a strong 167 per minute!  We’re about 3 weeks away from telling the world but I think that keeping it to close family and friends will suffice for a while.  I loved keeping it a secret between me and Chris but it did make me feel better when the family found out at Christmas and then friends here and there.  It still feels surreal but I never thought I would love a picture as much as I love the one above.  Blessings for another 7 months!

Sesame Seed (Original post date 12/7/11)

If you are just catching up with this blog now, I'm going back to www.milkbabypowder.com and moving all posts to here.  Hopefully will be back in "real" time in a week or so.

We’re on week 5 now!  The baby is now the size of a sesame seed – it’s graduated from being a poppyseed!  So far, my only symptoms are exhaustion, heightened sense of smell and just really no desire for food.  It’s very strange.  I love food! But I’m whatever about anything if anyone suggests something to eat.  I’m eating because I know I have to but as far as hunger goes, I’m not as hungry.  The exhaustion is really what’s getting to me.  I cannot get enough of sleep!  It’s been great but I need my energy back.  I want caffeine like nobody’s business.  I don’t miss the alcohol as much as I am missing caffeine.  We’re also becoming pretty good liars.  I do sometimes regret telling people that we are trying because everyone wants to know now.  We also went to dinner with Peldia last Saturday night and I could tell they were suspicious since I’m usually a big drinker and I didn’t even taste anyone’s wine/cocktail.  I can’t wait for the first of February when we can let everyone know.

Poppyseed (Original post date 12/3/11)

November was a very busy month for us. It went and flew by so quickly. We host Thanksgiving every year and this year, was our biggest in our new home. 25 people! I don’t know what I was thinking but never again…it was way too hectic. Well, I guess definitely next year is out of the question! It was so busy in fact, that I didn’t remember when the first day of my last period was. It was very strange – ever since we started trying, I’d been calendaring everything. We started with ovulation sticks right away because I didn’t want to calendar but I ended up doing both. My period was like clockwork every month which was great but also sad if you weren’t expecting it. With November, I started on a non-Sunday – a Wednesday in fact, but I couldn’t remember which Wednesday! I have a co-worker who has her period before mine so I was desperately seeking when hers was. When she said hers was Oct. 29th (my birthday!), I silently knew it was the Wednesday after, Nov. 2. So therefore, when I didn’t get my period on Nov. 30th, which was my 28th day, I was stoked. Scared. Stoked. Scared. And then back to stoked. So I couldn’t wait to get home and take my test. But then driving home, I almost talked myself out of it. What if it was negative? What if I got my period later that night? There were a bunch of what-ifs and I knew the definitive was just to take a test. The plan that night was to also go to a food truck event so I knew Chris would be home by 7. So I took the test. The dogs could sense my anxiety. They were hopping around, wondering what was going on with Mommy. That was the longest 3 minutes of my life after peeing on that stick. So I went to the kitchen, busied myself for 3 minutes and walked back, fully expecting 1 line. Nope, 2. I left the bathroom. Walked back in. Yes, still 2 lines. I did this about 5 more times. The minutes on the clock ticked for what seemed like an eternity. Chris finally texted that he was on his way home. He got home around 7:15, telling me about his day, the dogs were still bouncing around and I was just sort of listening and when I could interject to tell him. I didn’t have time to be creative – I couldn’t wait! So I started by saying, Hey hon, you know how I wasn’t feeling well this morning? And by the time he turned around, I had the pregnancy test in my hand and showed him. I asked him – that’s 2 lines right? And he broke into a grin and said, yep, that’s 2 lines alright. And then he knelt down and kissed my stomach.

We were going to be parents.

That’s 2 lines right?? (Original post date 12/1/11)

Well, it looks like 2 lines.  We’re in shock, naturally.  I mean, trying for 5 months shouldn’t make it shocking but it’s still surreal nonetheless.  We are thrilled/scared/excited/happy/loved.  Here’s to a happy and healthy 9 months!

The Pies are Back!

Did you know that WordPress charges you for uploading images after you've reached a certain limit?  Um, yeah.  So we're not going back to that blog tool.

Sorry we ignored you Blogspot!  We're back!  And we have great news :)

As a way to save our posts from WP, I'm going to repost them here so that we have them in order.

xoxo,
Mrs. Pie
