Celebritree and Me!

The day started out awesome! Mr. Pie wished me a happy birthday with a morning kiss. And then the dogs also vied for kissing space. I came to work, my co-workers hooked me up with breakfast and this on my wall!
It's a Celebritree!
Check out Suri at the bottom.
Not to be outdone, they combined 2 of my loves in one - a celebrity blog but it was about me! I can't share the blog URL but here's a snapshot of one of the posts. Can you tell it's about one of my favorite subjects?!
For lunch, we went to Koki's which is a teppan style restaurant. It was super fun and the waitress brought out this (shout out to Fish who we miss dearly!) and everyone sang happy birthday (with tambourines).
I think there's more to come - birthday month - woohoo!!

That's not a coconut cream pie, hon...

Ok fine! I was caught. That picture above in my header? That's a chocolate cream pie. The coconut cream pie ones were too ugly - hahaha.
The Pies had a fun filled weekend. We started off Friday at Oktoberfest with GolfGirl and Jimmissa. It was super fun - I had never been to one! We met up with old co-workers and had a blast.
Here's a funny picture from there:
Yeah, we had fun :)
On Saturday, I ran errands with MommaPie and had doggy time while Mr. Pie and GolfGirl hit the links. Afterwards, we went to GolfGirl's place for yummy delicious bbq and watched the Longhorns kick butt. Sunday? Sunday was filled with cleaning up the yard (thanks Mr. Pie!) and laundry. Afterwards though, we made it a date night. We dressed up and headed to Five Crowns (thanks Entertainment Book!). If you've never been here, you will need to know that it is the Ritz Carlton of Coco's. Everyone there was over 80. However, the food? The food was fantastic! Mr. Pie didn't let me take pics - the place was just too nice. We started off with the Hearts of Romaine salad (royal blue stilton dressing and pickled red onions) - I want to live in that dressing and lobster bisque - equally delicious. Mr. Pie had the prime rib - amazing, best prime rib I've ever had. It was drowned in pool of au jus. We also had a side of whipped horseradish. For my dinner, I had it specially made for me. Ok, I didn't but I swear, everything in this description are all of my favorite foods: Beefsteak NeptuneButterflied filet with Dungeness crab legs, Yukon gold potato, asparagus and sauce bearnaise It is amazing. I can't still even speak. Afterwards, we stopped at the real Coco's for coconut cream pie (not chocolate)!

Fight Hunger!

With the upcoming holidays and the economy in the state that it's in, I'd like to start a canned food drive to help those in need. If you are in close proximity to me, feel free to drop off a donation or two as I will be delivering the goods to this food bank every week: http://www.feedoc.org/
If you are far away from the Pies, you can donate online! http://www.feedoc.org/help.html

Just try...

WARNING: This might just be the longest post ever.
Ok, you've been warned.
I remember the knock on my front door when I was 11. It was my neighbor, DelgadoCommunityCollege, and she wanted me to come over to see a new music video. We only had rabbit ears at my house so LeeLee and I rushed over.
It was this:
It was then that it was official - I had fallen in love.
From that instant on, we lived and breathed New Kids on the Block. My sister and I could not get enough. We had everything - t-shirts, big buttons, vhs tapes, cassette tapes, shoelaces! It was insane and we loved every minute of it. I would get so jealous of friends who were allowed to go to the concerts. I never thought I would be able to see them live.
Until last night.
It was a small price to pay for a childhood dream come true (thanks LeeLee for my early b-day present!).
MommaPink, LeeLee and I trekked it to the Staple Center and from the moment we arrived, it was apparent that everyone was also reliving their childhoods. I even ran into an old highschool buddy who informed me others were also there. I think it's the nostalgia of it all that keeps everyone coming back!
MommaPink & Me (I made those shirts!) I also met up with B-Dog for this photo - how cute is she?!
Lady Gaga and Natasha Bedingfield opened for them. They were ok but who were they kidding, we all knew who we really wanted to see! The entire concert was mesmerizing. Even better? The entire stadium singing along - no one missed a beat! It is still giving me chills! I have never screamed so loud - my voice is scratchy today and my throat is killing me! These are photos I got from other people's accounts on flickr (thanks B-Dog!)

MY FAVE KID - JONATHAN! Check out the crowd! LeeLee and MommaPink fought over Joey:

I didn't take a picture of a sign someone had but it said "Gimme Some Grown Man!" They pretty much played all of their old songs and most of their new ones: Click Click Click Dirty Dawg The Right Stuff Please Don't Go Girl (MommaPink's weak spot!) Games Step By Step Tonight (my all time favorite) Cover Girl (LeeLee was swooning) Single Didn't I Blow Your Mind My Favorite Girl It was amazing, probably the best concert I will ever go to! I will post more from LeeLee's camera when she finds her cord. Stay tuned!

BEST. CONCERT. EVER.

I have real pics and videos to download tomorrow but just wanted to log on and say, the night was absolutely awesome!!!

Where my pomegranate at?

About 500 Saturdays ago, we celebrated MommaPink's birthday!
It was a fun fun fun celebration as you can see :)
Girl Trouble
Mr. Pie & Me The adorable Pinks :)
Mr. Pie even decorated these sugar cookies.
How sweet is he? I chipped in and provided these party favors.
These aren't my own but wouldn't you know, I didn't take any pics! This picture is courtesty of Bakerella - a wonderful wonderful baker. Check it out if you have time! She makes it seem really easy peasy on her blog but I have to tell you, they are the hardest things to make. We stayed for drinks, carne asade (yum, I'm still drooling for them as I write this) and lots of fun with friends. Happy Birthday MommaPink - welcome to the 3-0 club - they're the new 20s! The next morning as we were gathering our things...Mr. Pie noticed his pomegranate that he picked was gone. We hope to find it one day - hahaha.
