What else do you have in your purse

Tonight a couple of girls and I went to the $2 theatre to watch Confessions of a Shopaholic. It was such a cute movie! I highly recommend it. Isla Fisher is adorable as usual.
I ended up sneaking in a coke, candy and chips for everyone to share. They wanted to know what else was in my purse - ha! Total cost for the night was $5!

Which one is the baby's daddy?

Helloooooo...remember me? I know what you are thinking - where have the Pies been? Are they starving? There are no pics of food! Did Mrs. Pie run off with Donnie Wahlberg? Is that why we have been staring at him for the past week? Where are they? Well, have no fear. The Pies are alive and well. I have just been busy at work, on FB and Twitter kicks and fighting the Target addiction. Detox is so hard.
So here's last week's recap - it was packed!
Monday - picked up Mr. Pie from the airport, poor guy was sick but we were extremely happy to have him back! I made lasagna but I've made it a trillion times so no pics :)
Tuesday - Mr. Pie was still sick :( I, sadly, eat leftover lasagna.
Wednesday - Mr. Pie was still sick :( I, sadly, continue to eat leftover lasagna. I don't think I want to look at lasagna for a long, long time.

Thursday - Ting and I took passport photos! Except they look like mugshots - ha! I will probably retake mine. The girl at Costco said not to smile. Whatever.

For dinner Mr. Pie whipped up yummy chicken, rice and corn for us from the charcoal grill! Yay, he's back! He's back!

Friday - exotic car day at work! That's an Alfa Romeo I'm in. When I got home, Mr. Pie goes, what kind is it? And I said a red one. He meant what kind of model is it - ha!

Even more fun? Sushi that night with a bunch of co-workers! We had a blast!

Saturday - we took the Pie doggies to the vet for their annual shots. None of them flinched (even though I did) but Mr. Pie was the champ since he took them in and I waited out in the waiting area. The rest of the day was spent lounging for me and backyard clean up for Mr. Pie. He did send me to the salon to get a mani/pedi - sooooo nice!!! And then when I came home there were flowers waiting for me and he was busy making dinner! What a lucky chick I am!

Jamaican rub pork tenderloin! Scrumptious!!!

Sunday - I went the swap meet with MommaPie and then that afternoon, Jimmissa came over and we fired up the charcoal grill for yummy steaks.

Missa's macaroni salad - the best I've ever had.

Mr. Pie's perfect grilled veggies

He also whipped up 3 beef ribs from his prime rib roast from Christmas. Guess who are the lucky beneficiaries of leftover bones :)

My juicy ribeye steak from Mr. Pie!

And the guys and Slim had t-bone steaks - all of the meat was absolutely perfect! How could we overindulge? Missa made chocolate cake with banana filling and a chocolate mousse frosting. OMG. That is all that can be said about that! It was woooooooooooonderful!!!!

That's the full week in recap :) Oh and I'm now on 2 weeks of not stepping foot into a Target but those bastards sent me a coupon. Are they reading this blog too?!

5 bonus points if you know where that is from.
BTW, does this count towards my no Target pledge. It doesn't, right? RIGHT?

Mr. Pie's New Girlfriend

She's smokin' hot!
Last Saturday, Mr. Pie left in the morning to go get his hairs cut. He was gone for a while. Now, I know his head is not that big but I also know that he likes to run all of his errands on Saturday while he's up in his old hood, check on his other office, etc. So I didn't really think anything of it. Plus I knew he'd be home soon because we had later afternoon lunch plans with Jimmissa. A few hours later, Mr. Pie comes through the door, with a handsome haircut on his head and a smile on his face.
Mr. Pie: "I have to show you what I bought."
Mrs. Pie: "Oh really?" I'm not paying that much attention.
Mr. Pie: "It's in the garage, you have to see it. I went to 2 different Lowe's!"
Mrs. Pie: "Ok, make it quick, we're gonna be late for our lunch."
2 different Lowe's huh? Mr. Pie loves Lowes. Once, he went 3 times in one day, "forgetting" to buy a thing or two from the previous trip.
And what was it? Well, it's his new girlfriend!
He spent most of Sunday night paying attention to her!
But boy...can she cook a mean steak.
One of the best steaks I've ever had!
I don't know what Mr. Pie does with the wood chips he buys or the 1000 lb bag of charcoal sitting in our garage but whatever it is, he can keep this girlfriend!
And tonight? He made carne freakin' asada! That he's been marinating for the past 2 days!
Look how much he loves her ;)Yummy carne asada
He also whipped up a spicy guacomole dip! Oh joy oh joy! Welcome to the family, Mrs. Charcoal!

Hi, my name is Mrs. Pie and I have an addiction

Dear Target, We've been together, what, 16 years? I remember the first time I laid eyes on you - your strong symbol outside, the shelves glistening with product after product, your attractive selection of health & beauty products. Oh, and let's not even get into how I drooled over your $1 bins and your clearance sections - your clearance makes my heart skip a beat. We've been together for a long long time - longer than I've been with my husband. And I know, over the years, I have been to other stores. I have! But I've always come back to you. Even when I got married and my husband didn't understand why I had to be with you for hours during 1 shopping trip to get toothpaste, I still knew, we had something special. But Target, I am sad to say that I finally come to the conclusion that we have a co-dependency relationship and that I am addicted to you. What was the straw that broke the camel's back? The Monday after Easter, I risked being late to work to peruse the aisle for Easter candy and other discounted items. I shoved my way in there with the other housewives, hoping for that deal. It also could be that we are now stocked with 20 bars of soap, 150 trash bags, an endless supply of ziploc bags and kleenex and also a ton of disinfectant wipes. Where is this going, you ask? Target, I am so sorry but I pledge to not visit you for meaningless items (only necessary groceries and household items). I am so very sorry but I need a break. I will try this for 30 days to give us the time that we so desperately need. I hope you understand. However, still feel free to send a store coupon my way so that I can hold on to it after the break. I will always hold a special place for you in my heart. Sincerely, Mrs. Pie

"The only bro who can cook marries the only sister who can also cook. that's not what I call check and balance....."

Ha! My older sister made that comment on my FB status. Mr. Pie cooked last night! He's the best.
He hadn't cooked in a while so he came back in a big way (that's what she said).
Italian meatballs made with ground turkey, and spinach, mushroom, onions and asiago cream sauce over thin spaghetti! So goooooooooood. I scarfed it down. It's amazing there was a picture for you to see.
Peanut was the recipient of leftover spaghetti.
Then we tried to recreate the Lady & the Tramp scene.
Everyone had some!
Um, Mr. Pie...you have a little something on your left...um, no still there.

Eggstravaganza

We celebrated Easter early in our office since we can't have meat on Fridays :) So we decided to have an Eggstravaganza! Everything is made with eggs or has egg on it - ha!
My eggs benedict
Joma's pasta carbonara
Little B's salad with hard boiled eggs
And for today, I baked goodies for the office :)
