I feel the earth move under my feet

I feel the earth move under my feet
I feel the sky tumbling down
I feel my heart start to trembling
Whenever you're around

We just had an earthquake! Everything is ok at work. Mr. Pie is fine too :) We're all just shaken up a bit - ha!

Um, we need a rag

What I learned this weekend:

+

= losing half of my Friday night.

So if you barely eat lunch and no dinner, don't drink. Just don't. It's not good. Trust me.
But a huge shout out to MommaPink and CuteyK for making it super fun. And Mike for picking us up and taking us to Jack-in-the-Box where they have the BEST cheeseburgers EVER.

Mr. Pie went up North and I was left to my own devices. Never a good idea. The rest of the weekend went like this:
- Did my walk of shame after the Pinks (I made BabyPink laugh!) dropped me off at my car.
- I picked up my new phone! See post below. I'm the coolest kid in school now!
- Took a loooooooong nap with the pups.
- Went out to sushi (again but this time I ate and drank Coke) with PhotoMom. Went to Target, then PinkBerry and visited Sasa who is due any day now. I'm tempted to give her some hot sauce!
- Worked out in my first personal training session. J is nice but I think she is the devil incarnate. My upper body is so friggin sore.
- Laundry
- Doggie park with the pups.
- Bathed them - they were filthy!
- Went to dinner with MommaPie.
- Picked up Mr. Pie. Kissed him lots.

$400 for a phone?

Yeah, I think I'm going to stick with Verizon instead of spending the cancellation fee + iPhone costs. I got this new baby instead:

It looks just like the iPhone and it got better reviews on CNET. Plus I got a great deal and the coverage will be better.

I know. You care.

What time should "i" get in line?

How Sweet! Part 2

Following up on my earlier post - strawberry cupcakes!

Thanks again MommaPink!

Here's the recipe from the book:

Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees
Line 12-15 cupcake liners in pan (I spray Pam so that the cake doesn't stick to the paper)
For the cupcakes:

2 sticks of butter, room temperature

4 eggs1 cup of superfine sugar

2 cups of flour

1 tsp vanilla extract
Mix in an electric mixer for 2-3 minutes
Pour into liners and bake for 20 minutes

There was another recipe for frosting but to save time, I just bought whipped strawberry frosting and fresh strawberries from the store. I frosted the cupcakes and then topped them off with the strawberries!

How Sweet!

Look what MommaPink gave me! It is sweet like her and of course, pink :) I will have to pick out a recipe soon and whip something up!

Thanks MommaPink!

Everything needs to be drizzled in butter

Our anniversary was a blast! I feel like we've already celebrated in Monterey but regardless, Mr. Pie made it pretty special on the day as well!

Here are the flowers he sent me :)

And we headed out to Ruth's Chris for dinner. It was absolutely delicious...

Dirty Kettle One Martini for me and a Sidecar with a sugared rim for him.

We had the summer special which consisted of a salad/soup to start for each of us:
Louisiana Gumbo - salted just right with a scoop of rice

Steak House Salad - the blue cheese dressing was sensational!
For dinner, I ordered the petite filet with a side of blue cheese crumble. The steak was succulent, done medium rare on top of drizzled butter. I think everything should be drizzled in butter.
Mr. Pie ordered the seared ahi tuna steak - it was absolutely perfect. I was worried that for a known steakhouse, they wouldn't be able to get the right amount of seared on the side and the rareness of the fish but they did!
You can also see for sides, we chose the garlic mashed potatoes (wonderful) and the sauteed spinach (divine). We also traded plates in the middle of the dinner :)

For dessert, it was bread pudding to share and also scoops of vanilla ice cream.

The Pies left very happy and full. (Special shout to Peldia for the gift card - thanks guys!)

At home, we shared some wedding cake we had frozen. It was gross so I don't recommend it - hahaha!
