Pun in the Sun

Yesterday we celebrated Little B's birthday in the office. The theme was Pun in the Sun in Costa Rica! Little B went to Costa Rica a few months ago and fell in love with the Capuchin Monkey (white faced monkey). She also loves puns. A lot. Do you see where I'm going with this? How could we not combine her two loves :)

Yes, we are nuts (and bananas) - ha!

I made cupcakes! On a more serious note, I'm pretty pleased about the Presidential election but I'm saddened about Prop 8 in California. How can we as a society, be ok with the preserving the safety of chickens but not gays? How can we possibly justify that? It makes me angry because back in the day, there were probably the same arguments against interracial marriage. Hello! Mr. Pie and I would not have been allowed to get married. Stew on that proponents of Prop 8 you bunch of assholes.

Ok, I'm done! Thanks!

Oh! One more thing - good luck on your trial Mr. Pie! Kick some ass!

Why so serious?

The Pies had a great Halloween this year! My work department won this year's costume contest (2 years in a row baby). It was a lot of fun as you can see below. After work, I rushed home to where Mr. Pie was already dressing for his costume. I was still BatGirl and he morphed into the Joker (Heath Ledger style). I thought I'd never hear the words "Hon, can you help me with my makeup?" :)
After we passed out candy, we headed off to Peldia's to surprise them. They were! We then left to go to an apartment complex party. Where we knew no one. It was truly so much fun. At only $5 pp and $5 strong drinks, we had the best time! We were able to meet up with CrashTestDummy (GolfGirl's ex-roommate) which was awesome - check out his make up!
We also made some friends along the way :)
And I ran into an old friend from high school and college - random!
Saturday
I got beautified - it was extreme makeover day! I met up with Fish and Little B at the spa where we proceeded to laugh our way through our makeovers. I got eyelash extensions, a facial and a spa pedi. Later that day, I got my hairs cut and colored. We were ready to go to dinner with Peldia! Pablo pulled up in his brand new black Audi A4 which was gorgeous and smelled sooo good. We went to Agora Churrascaria where we proceeded to eat our way through a lot of meat. It was a great birthday dinner!
Sunday
The Phamily came over for a crabtacular birthday dinner (I keep celebrating!) and it was a lot of fun. We shared oysters and crab and when it was over and done with we couldn't move.
Birthday month was a success - even though I'm not done celebrating with Mr. Pie (aka, the Joker)!

Celebritree and Me!

The day started out awesome! Mr. Pie wished me a happy birthday with a morning kiss. And then the dogs also vied for kissing space. I came to work, my co-workers hooked me up with breakfast and this on my wall!
It's a Celebritree!
Check out Suri at the bottom.
Not to be outdone, they combined 2 of my loves in one - a celebrity blog but it was about me! I can't share the blog URL but here's a snapshot of one of the posts. Can you tell it's about one of my favorite subjects?!
For lunch, we went to Koki's which is a teppan style restaurant. It was super fun and the waitress brought out this (shout out to Fish who we miss dearly!) and everyone sang happy birthday (with tambourines).
I think there's more to come - birthday month - woohoo!!

That's not a coconut cream pie, hon...

Ok fine! I was caught. That picture above in my header? That's a chocolate cream pie. The coconut cream pie ones were too ugly - hahaha.
The Pies had a fun filled weekend. We started off Friday at Oktoberfest with GolfGirl and Jimmissa. It was super fun - I had never been to one! We met up with old co-workers and had a blast.
Here's a funny picture from there:
Yeah, we had fun :)
On Saturday, I ran errands with MommaPie and had doggy time while Mr. Pie and GolfGirl hit the links. Afterwards, we went to GolfGirl's place for yummy delicious bbq and watched the Longhorns kick butt. Sunday? Sunday was filled with cleaning up the yard (thanks Mr. Pie!) and laundry. Afterwards though, we made it a date night. We dressed up and headed to Five Crowns (thanks Entertainment Book!). If you've never been here, you will need to know that it is the Ritz Carlton of Coco's. Everyone there was over 80. However, the food? The food was fantastic! Mr. Pie didn't let me take pics - the place was just too nice. We started off with the Hearts of Romaine salad (royal blue stilton dressing and pickled red onions) - I want to live in that dressing and lobster bisque - equally delicious. Mr. Pie had the prime rib - amazing, best prime rib I've ever had. It was drowned in pool of au jus. We also had a side of whipped horseradish. For my dinner, I had it specially made for me. Ok, I didn't but I swear, everything in this description are all of my favorite foods: Beefsteak NeptuneButterflied filet with Dungeness crab legs, Yukon gold potato, asparagus and sauce bearnaise It is amazing. I can't still even speak. Afterwards, we stopped at the real Coco's for coconut cream pie (not chocolate)!
