I want your grease

After turning in early on Saturday night in Vegas due to our food coma, we happily filled our tummies again at the MGM Grande Buffet.  I have no pics but they have a great deal there for drinks ($8 extra for unlimited bloody marys and champagne!).  After brunch, we bloated floated down the lazy river.  'Twas truly wonderful!  For dinner, we gussied ourselves up and went to SW Steakhouse at the Wynn.

Presenting, Gluttony, Part Deux!

Here's my fine lookin' fellow :)
Here are our fine lookin' selves :)

Here are our refreshing drinks - lychee martini and a manhattan.

And this?
Why this was magical.  I know not everyone has acquired the taste of liver.  But if you are into foie gras, this was as if liver and butter made a baby.  It was insanely delicious.

Why did I post this picture twice?  Actually that's not a mistake.  The Pies enter into a no limit room when we go to Vegas.
We got ourselves another seared foie gras.  Heaven. In. My. Mouth.

For dinner, I chose the appetizer sized lobster pasta.
Didn't disappoint but I wasn't wowed - maybe I'm still thinking of my foie gras.

Mr. Pie got another bone-in ribeye - delicious!  I was impressed by this.  But I'm still thinking of the foie gras.

The side dish is an unmentionable - green beans, black truffles, bacon and potatoes.
Yeah, you'd think there was a wow factor but it was just ok.  We should have gotten the foie gras as the side.

Mr. Pie likes to still play with his food.

So this pretty much concluded our Vegas trip.  See?  Just food pics.  The next morning, we got up early, packed and caught our flight back to reality.

Because I want people to say, see that S Car Go!

The Pies took a short trip to Vegas this past weekend and let me tell you, it was a truly wonderful getaway. Our stomachs thanked us profusely.

After flying in on JetBlue (yay!)we checked into the MGM Grande on Saturday.

There are no pics of the MGM. Just.food.

Our first night, we dined at one of our favorite restaurants ever - Mon Ami Gabi.

They start you off with warm bread and a corn/tomato side. Great start!
Then we ordered 2 appetizers - the warm duck confit (heavenly)
and our ever so favorite, escargots in butter, olive oil and pesto. If the pan wasn't searing hot, I'm pretty sure we would have licked it clean. But alas, we let our bread do that job! For wine, we had a bottle of the Dr. Loosen Riesling. Sooooooo refreshingly good!
But the cap isn't as nice smelling as a cork :)
Mr. Pie ordered the bone-in ribeye for his dinner while I chose an appetizer for mine so that we could share both.
I got the scallop appetizer - yum.
Aren't we adorable? Sorry for the blurry photo - my camera is drunk.

We are so happy, we ended up ordering 2 desserts!
Bread pudding! Filled with yummy things I don't even remember!
Stuffed inside this crepe was vanilla ice cream. Oh no they din't!
Good lord, we stuffed ourselves silly! Tomorrow's post - part 2 of our gluttony.

Let's go to the OC Fair!

A few Sundays ago, Peldia came over so that we could all truck over to the OC Fair (the Pies have never been before despite me living here for almost 20 years). Mr. Pie had free tickets and a free parking pass courtesy of his SEO team. We were set! Until we got to the parking line. Then Pablo made a u-turn and we got the dodge out of town (is that a phrase?). So we made it to Boomers and settled in for some mini golf!
Here is Mama Dia with her cute little Paulita! Cuteness overload here. Cuteness overload.
Um, Paulita, we need to walk the course...
The Pies are trying to win a free game at the 18th hole. Hey, where's the bar?
Paulita with my sunglasses. How cool is she?
Afterwards, Mr. Pie whipped up lobster rolls to fill us up after an afternoon of golfing.
Yes, he MADE LOBSTER ROLLS!!!Thanks for coming to dinner Peldia!
The almost OC Fair rules!
